Default Black & White 2

Works well under Vista.

Run as administrator and set to Windows XP compatability (disable desktop composition sometimes helps if the game lags).

Nvidia Owners
Alot of people with Nvidia cards have trouble with this game. If you run the game on its medium (mid) or low settings this should stop the lag and sound problems.

For best results on Nvidia cards:
Resolution = Any (whatever resolution you have)
Graphics settings = mid (checkbox)

If the mid settings don't help performance - Click the Custom check-box and use the settings below
Blooming = low
Shadows = off
Vegetation = low/mid
sea = low/mid
Antialiasing = low/mid
Distortion = off
Fur = on

Tiger Installer
The Tiger installer (which comes with the bonus edition or pre-ordered copy) does not work under Vista. There is only one way around this and that is to "borrow" a save game from someone.
I do have a save game (Just after the creature selection), which I made on my XP machine. I have tested it and it works. If you want it email me.

I have a question. My PC runs on vista home basic SP 1. I'd already patched the game, but i still can't get to the 1st area (the one after the tutorial). I don't know what's wrong, any ideas?
Btw, my PC's specs:
toshiba portege m800; duo core 2.4 ghz, Mobile Intel(R) 965 Express Chipset Family VGA card, 3 GB of RAM. is it still not enough to run black and white 2?

I'm also trying to run BW2 on my laptop. It's working but the lag is unbearable..

I'm kinda frustrated because my friend can run BW2 with a decent frame rate even though our laptop specs are almost identical except for the video card..

i've got a Mobile Intel(R) 965 Express Chipset Family VGA card while my friend has a Mobile Intel(R) 945G Express Chipset Family VGA card if it will help.

Any ideas?

Alright, so I installed Black and White 2 on my computer and am running it as an administrator as well as on the XP setting. No go. I get a runtime error the moment I try to start the game upon which it crashes right back to the desk top. Help please?

Hi and welcome to VRG,
Have you installed the patches that are in the first post and followed his instructions?

I also have the same problem. Apparently you have to close everything down such as firewall and anti-virus. So when I installed B&W2 for the first time everything was turned off. I was able to play it yesterday however when I tried to play it today the same message appeared despite everything being turned off.

What's recommended?

I'm using Vista Home Premium, i have more than enough room for the game, where as my old pc (XP) is far too slow for B&W2. So can't seem to win.
